Christmas Greetings 2023

In Loving Memory of Lesley Hanson

December 2023

It is with deep sadness and sorrow we must convey the news that Lesley Hanson, beloved partner of Geoff, passed away recently after a long-term illness.

Affectionately know as Les (or "Scud" to friends), she was Geoff's "soul mate" for 50 years. A wonderful woman who will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.

With a shared passion for the Battle of Britain and the bravery of its young pilots, Geoff and Lesley started the Shoreham Aircraft Museum almost 40 years ago. The museum and its fantastic staff have been a massive part of their lives ever since.

In addition to running the museum, they have helped many others and supported many causes, including involvement with the London Embankment Battle of Britain Memorial, and of course the local memorials project for pilots that lost their lives within vicinity of the museum.

We are all very grateful and proud of everything they have done to honour the brave men and women who fought for our freedom all those years ago.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Geoff and his family during this incredibly sad time.

Rest in peace Lesley.
