Paintings

The Museum displays many aviation paintings and prints alongside the exhibits. These pictures are painted by our own Geoff Nutkins. They directly depict the events surrounding the exhibits, helping to bring the past to life.

Geoff is a renowned aviation artist and his works are displayed in collections across the world, including those of the RAF Staff College, The Royal Air Force Museum, The RAF Club, and the United States National D-Day Museum.

Amongst Geoff's works are the Scenes of the Battle of Britain. Prints of these twelve paintings raised over £100,000 for the RAF Benevolent Fund Reach for the Sky appeal in association with the Daily Telegraph.

The painting 'Duel' (top left) was the inspiration for the 2006 colour scheme of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Hurricane LF 363.
